SO WHY PURCHASE SIMTEK FENCE FROM PENN FENCING?
Because the Simtek Fence we sell at Penn Fencing is Certainteed’s Bufftech Molded Fence, which is the premium version of the Simtek Fence sold at the “big box” stores. Both the Simtek Fence and Bufftech Molded Fence are manufactured by Certanteed and look identical, but contain differences of material. The Simtek Fence you find in the “big box” stores and the Bufftech Molded Fence we carry and sell on-line, represent two different levels of quality. Our Bufftech Molded Fence carries a LIFETIME WARRANTY and a 25-YEAR COLOR FADE PROTECTION .The DIY “big box” stores can only sell and inventory the Simtek Fence which only has a 25-year warranty and has NO color fade protection. We also provide expert online help and advice on how to build your Simtek Fence. This is why you should purchase your Simtek Fence, or shall we say, your Bufftech Molded premium vinyl fence from Penn Fencing!
Simtek Fence Features
UNSURPASSED STRENGTH AND DURABILITY
Simtek Fence is made to be extremely durable. Molded of exceptionally tough polyethylene and reinforced with galvanized steel top and bottom rails, the fence panels can stand up to the most demanding environmental conditions. Simtek Fence offers superior resistance of sustained winds of up to 110 mph and gusts of up to 130 mph and is certified to meet Dade County, Florida hurricane requirements.
The impact strength is unmatched by any vinyl or composite fence material. Simtek has demonstrated this toughness by allowing a Major League Baseball pitcher to throw fastballs, up to 91 mph, that bounce off of the Simtek fence but easily punch through a vinyl fence. Similarly, golf balls and heavy rocks do not damage the Simtek fence, but shatter the vinyl fence to pieces. Our Simtek Fence Panel even held up to a college hockey team shooting 80 MPH pucks at it. Watch the video below!
The polyethylene construction makes the fence very stable in hot and cold weather extremes by passing all tests at temperatures between -40 to +140 degrees F. Simtek Fencing is graffiti resistant. Spray paint graffiti can be easily removed from our Simtek Fence with a pressure washer.
SIMTEK FENCING PROVIDES A BETTER SOUND BARRIER
Simtek fence is a great sound barrier, blocking 98% of direct sound with a STC 26* ASTM E 90 sound transmission loss test rating. Compare to wood fences that block only 75%.
No trees are cut down for the purpose of manufacturing a Simtek fence system. Simtek panels and posts use at least 25% recycled polyethylene and are reinforced with steel.
Standard panel size is 72″ high x 72″ wide, but can be ordered in 48″high x 96″wide Posts come in 8.5′ and 12′ heights and have a five inch outer diameter. All posts contain full-length internally molded steel stiffeners for optimum strength.
*WHAT IS STC AND STC VALUE?
STC stands for Sound Transmission Class. It’s a performance rating on how well a building partition, in this case the Simtek Vinyl Fence, reduces any airborne noise or sounds on the other side of the product. In the USA, STC is the most commonly used measurement for rating common noise reduction. The higher the number the better the soundproofing. Although this measurement is used to rate products, there are always other factors to consider and the STC measurement should not be the complete gage for soundproofing effectiveness.
